JAMIE TONKIN
Lead Electrician for the SkySolar Teams, he has worked at SkySolar since his first day 3 years ago. Before he moved to SkySolar Jamie installed HRV Systems on North Shore and oversaw the drilling of over 30,000 holes in customer houses.
He’s originally from the UK, and moved to NZ in 2007. Jamie served his Electrical Apprenticeship with Scottish and Southern Energy – one of the largest electrical contracting companies in the UK with in excess of 6 million customers.

Jamie has 2 kids, Caja Skye – 5, and Rewan Jethro – 23 months.
Jamie lives in Greenhithe, and has just started boxing in Shane Camerons Gym to improve fitness and health.
He’s getting married next year after 4 years of being engaged and 14 years together.

I’m a Cornish boy so naturally favorite food is a Cornish Pasty. Although not very healthy.

Something about your role
My role is to oversee the safe installation of Premium Solar Systems. Also to ensure that the customer or client gets the best Sky Solar experience possible as naturally it can be quite daunting allowing strangers onto your property and into your home. We pride ourselves on making people feel at ease by being courteous and approachable throughout the installation process.
